Venue Details

We believe we have hit on a winner in all spheres and are delighted to host our 2010 event at the Beehive Camping and Function venue, a  facility owned and run with great attention to detail by Gary and Carola Redinger.

“The Beehive” is accessed approximately 1 km from the outskirts of Greytown on the R622 toward Mooi River. Possibly the most positive aspect of the move is that now for the first time we can confidently say that after a hard morning’s riding in the mud or dust of the course cyclists can be guaranteed of an adequate number of clean showers with plentiful hot water and immaculate facilities. The ablution facilities will be serviced throughout the event by Gary’s staff.

As a private property the facilities are fully fenced and access is limited to participants, their supporters, spectators and race officials.

The entire venue has been booked out for the duration of the event and casual campers/revelers not associated with the event will not be allowed access. The area will be patrolled by security personnel throughout the event to give campers and cyclists peace of mind.

It is important for parents with children to bear in mind that the property is bordered by a stream, the Heinespruit, and there is a swimming pool on the premises. The pool will be fenced but it is parents’ responsibility to ensure that their children do not swim or play near the stream unsupervised.

Apart from these limitations the venue offers a spacious, safe and healthy environment where families from the cities can relax and enjoy what we country folk tend to take for granted.
